iCal calendars can be published online, for either public or limited-access viewing. Requirements...
- All parties involved must have iCal software.
- A .Mac account or a WebDAV server. (If your school/parish web site is hosted by the diocese, that is a WebDAV server. Please ask your webmaster to read the WebDAV documentation.)
If your situation does not meet the above criteria, try iCal2Web.
Publishing an iCal calendar via WebDAV
- Launch iCal.
- Select the desired calendar in the left column.
- In the "Calendar" menu, select "Publish..."
- On the first line, give the calendar a unique title (avoid special characters such as slashes and spaces).
- Choose to publish on "a private server".
- Type the base URL (provided by the webmaster).
- Type your username and password (provided by the webmaster).
- If the online calendar should be automatically updated when changes are made, check "Publish changes automatically".
- Click "Publish".
- A dialog box will appear, indicating the web address of your calendar. Share this web address within anyone that needs to view the calendar.
- Click "OK".
Subscribing to an iCal calendar
- Launch iCal.
- In the "Calendar" menu, select "Subscribe..."
- Enter the web address of the calendar.
- Click "Subscribe".
- If prompted, enter the username and password of that calendar.
- If the calendar should be automatically updated, check "Refresh".
- Click "OK".
