Fr. Bill Vos
After well over 25 years and probably over 700,000 flying miles, Fr. William Vos retires as director of the St. Cloud Mission Office/Shop and from active ministry. Fr. Vos traveled around the world numerous times from Maracay, Venezuela, South America; Tanzania and Homa, Bay Kenya, East Africa; Papua, New Guinea, Asia; and the U.S./ Mexico Border. During his time as Mission Office Director, he has promoted a vision of our global faith and church. Fr. Vos reminded us of our universal calling through our baptism to all be missioners. He especially promoted establishing global connections with others through the fostering of our diocesan global solidarity partnerships and relationships around the world.
Fr. Vos spent about 19 years working overseas with the Maryknoll Missioners primarily in Tanzania, East Africa. He also served as Africa Regional Coordinator for the Maryknoll Lay Missioners for a number of years before returning home to Minnesota to serve as director of the Diocesan Mission Office. Fr. Vos plans to remain active with our diocesan partnerships, the Maryknoll Missioners, and mission even after his retirement.
