Mass marks shrine’s 70th anniversary, honors soldiers’ sacrifices

During an outdoor Mass Sept. 9 marking the 70th anniversary of the Soldiers’ Shrine in Holdingford, Father Gregory Mastey asked people to stand in recognition of those who had served in the military or their families.
When he asked worshipers to speak the names of soldiers currently serving, or say a silent prayer for those who had died while in service, it was an emotional moment of reflection.
